Belinda graduated from Columbia University with a Masters and a Doctorate in Physical Therapy specialising in Orthopedics and Pediatrics. She spent close to 10 years in California working closely with Sports Physicians and Surgeons in the Stanford area to rehabilitate post-op, orthopedic patients and athletes to achieve their goals.
Belinda’s passion is in teaching and clinical work. She was a Clinical Coordinator and Instructor to PT students from USC, Northwestern,SUNY Buffalo when practicing in the US.
Belinda is the only Fellow in Singapore belonging to the prestigious American Academy of Orthopedic Manual Therapy committed to advance orthopedic manual therapy and also received the title of Orthopedic Certified Specialist since 2006. She is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist with the National Strength and Conditioning Association and a certified Health Fitness Instructor with the American College of Sports Medicine.
In addition to being a Physical Therapist, Belinda is a certified Pilates Instructor trained in the classical technique under the pupillage of Romana Kryzanowska. a ballet dancer who was a student of Joseph Pilates. The combination of fitness and rehabilitation through core strengthening and dynamic stretching from Pilates she is able to help her patients to optimally help maintain injury and pain-free.
Belinda’s interest in sports began at an early age with her participation in competitive tennis and gymnastics. Her background in gymnastics combined with her recent research in this field gives her a very well rounded understanding towards these athletes.
Belinda believes strongly that ‘Our body’s dysfunction is an accumulation of our lifetime of sports and daily activities. It is movement that brought us to this dysfunction and I believe that movement through rehabilitation can bring back function but only through manual therapy and exercise can we expedite this process’.
